ALEXANDRA OLIVER
Fine Artist
ABOUT THE ARTIST.

Alexandra Oliver’s artwork is focused upon an exploration of the serene beauty of the English countryside that surrounds her in Suffolk. She emboldens the viewer with a sense of immersion within the landscape, capturing the animate energy that flows throughout the natural world.
She integrates her experiences exploring her local countryside landscape and alchemises them into her own visual language.
Her influences span the poetic sensibilities of Constable and Gainsborough, the drama of Turner, and the ethereal opulence of Rococo aesthetics. Her art blends these elements to infuse her work with a representational flourish.

Her traditional approach to painting has evolved from a background following a BA in Fine Art with History of Art at the University of Leeds, practical art training in Florence and art history at Sotheby’s Institute of Art where she completed her MA in Fine and Decorative Art & Design.

Alex has exhibited all over the UK, including Leeds, London, Cambridge and overseas in Canada. Her work has been complimented by winning the Berkofsky Award in 2019 and being shortlisted for the FUAM Graduate Art Prize in the same year.
